The judgment of Osiris is the most important and transcendental event for the deceased, inside the set of credence of the Egyptian mythology.

In Further away, the deceased was guided by the god Anubis before the court of Osiris. Anubis was extracting magically the heart and was placing it on the saucer of a scales. This one was counterweighed by the pen of Maat, symbol of the Truth.

Meanwhile, a jury composed by gods was formulating his questions to next to his past conduct. Depending on his responses the heart was diminishing or increasing his weight. Thot, acting as scribe, was noting down the results and they were delivered to Osiris.

At the end of the judgment, Osiris was pronouncing sentence:

If this affirmative age his Ka and his Ba they could go to meet the mummy, shape the Aj and live eternally.

But if the verdict was negative, his heart was thrown to Ammit, the devouring one of the dead persons (a pathetic being with head of crocodile, long hair of lion, torso and human arms and legs of hippopotamus), that it was finishing with him. This was named the second death and supposed for the deceased the end of his condition of immortal.
